Our first contender for in the Profile Rock series is the Indian Profile located on Joshua's Mountain in Freetown Massachusetts. The Wampanoag Indians believe it is the profile of the great chief Massasoit. Though I was unable to find much written information concerning the rock, the locals had many interesting things to say about it. Some people claimed that the area is haunted by a group of Indians. Others mentioned of stories concerning dead cattle and satanic worship in the area. Unfortunately, all of the people I spoke to only knew bits of stories they heard long ago. I wasn't able to find any leads that fleshed out.
